Metopio Powers New Contra Costa Health Atlas
Contra Costa Health recently launched the Contra Costa Health Atlas. The interactive platform, powered by Metopio, allows any stakeholder to access and use data to understand health disparities and drive change. The Health Atlas features over 100 indicators that can be visualized in maps, charts, graphs and tables for any location in Contra Costa County to facilitate collaboration around health issues and identify root causes.
While the data in the Health Atlas is already publicly available, it is spread across multiple sources, which can make it challenging to get at. The Contra Costa Health Atlas was created to simplify access so that anyone can review, explore and compare health-related data over time and across communities to give local context and understand all the factors that influence it.

Roth adds, “Sharing data with our community in a user-friendly way is a priority for us. We want our residents and local partners to be able to easily access data about our community. With the Atlas, now they can.”
The Contra Costa Health Atlas pulls data from sources such as the U.S Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, the California Health Interview Survey, and the California Department of Public Health. Contra Costa Health plans to add more datasets on an ongoing basis. The intent is to partner with the community to identify important datasets over time to continue to grow the Atlas.
