Metopio Joins Prestigious National Coalition to Improve Community Health
As a new member of the Common Health Coalition, Metopio has doubled down on commitments that will improve the way health care and public health work together. This new membership is a reflection on the company’s ongoing commitment to helping ensure that the U.S. health system is ready today to confront the challenges of tomorrow.
There are three areas where Metopio will continue to lead and make a difference:
Establishing and codifying collaboration:
The core of Metopio is about creating opportunities for strategic collaboration and communication between health care and public health agencies to address health disparities and improve health outcomes for communities, both large and small. Working with our partners we are improving upon and building new innovative and effective public-facing data sharing infrastructure that increases data literacy and addresses data equity in the community to align efforts and bring resources to address the most urgent needs.
Sharing data in real time to advance equitable outcomes:
Metopio is built on a data governance framework that makes data sharing efficient and effective for both the public and private sector. Metopio finds, curates and maintains federal and state data which allows local partnerships to spend their valuable time collecting hyper-local data to fill gaps in the larger data sets and provide a lens into the nuances of a community. With each engagement, Metopio starts with data discovery to identify missing data to answer pressing questions in the community and then advising and supporting data collection over time. This approach enables the local jurisdiction to create their own longitudinal data sets, giving them a resource they may not have had otherwise. In many cases, Metopio facilitates academic partnerships that provide additional expertise and advice for communities with limited resources as well.
Advancing existing federal efforts:
Metopio understands that policy is one of the greatest levers in public health work. Setting national standards and having a framework to understand and assess equity provides greater opportunity to work collaboratively. This policy work extends to the essential funding necessary for data modernization and innovation in the application of learning in the community. This work includes collaborating with partners to use our data and tools to both understand the social determinants of health and health related social needs to take action and educate policymakers. Metopio leaders have been active in advancing the continual improvement of demographic data standards across the federal statistical agencies.
““We are proud to be part of the Coalition and join health care leaders from across the country to work towards this common goal. We believe better access to better data not only promotes collaboration and preparedness but also empowers community members to translate their lived experiences through numbers and advocate on behalf of their communities. We couldn’t be more excited to continue this important work together.””
