Fox Valley Data Exchange Unveils Free Data Platform for the Tri-County Region
Empowering Cross-Sector Collaboration to Improve Community Wellbeing, Fox Valley Data Exchange Launches Groundbreaking Free Data Platform for Tri-County Region
(Chicago, IL) October 15, 2024 – Metopio, a leading provider of data-driven insights, is proud to announce the launch of the Fox Valley Data Exchange (FVDEX), a free and comprehensive data platform serving the Tri-County region (Calumet, Outagamie, and Winnebago) in Wisconsin. This innovative platform consolidates vital data from public and private sources, enabling cross-sector organizations to assess community needs and inform decisions that improve health, wellbeing, and economic vitality across the region.
For nearly five years, the Fox Valley has been without a platform that integrated community health and vitality data across sectors. The FVDEX fills this gap by offering real-time, continuously updated data from over 30 sources, ranging from government agencies to businesses, with an easy-to-use interface that allows any user to access, visualize, and download insights. Users can explore data on pressing issues like drug overdose mortality rates, internet access gaps, and other social determinants of health—at the click of a button.
““The Fox Valley Data Exchange is a one-stop shop for our entire tri-county area. Most of the data drills all the way down to the census tract, so we can pinpoint community investment opportunities. Any community member can easily download charts and graphs with one click. It’s free, accessible, and crucial for understanding how our communities are doing.””
Rachel Podoski, President of the Fox Valley Data Exchange Board, shared, “This platform is a leap forward from the Fox Cities LIFE Study. The Data Exchange updates in real time, acting like a dynamic GPS for community health and wellbeing, helping users adjust as conditions change.”
Angie Grover, COO and Co-Founder of Metopio, emphasized the impact of accessible data in community decision-making: “Data has the power to transform the way we understand and address challenges in our communities. The Fox Valley Data Exchange exemplifies how data can be used to create actionable insights that drive meaningful change. By providing this free tool, we are empowering organizations across the region to make informed, strategic decisions that can improve the quality of life for all.”
To celebrate the launch, the FVDEX hosted an event at Fox Valley Technical College today, providing the public with hands-on demonstrations and a video case study featuring Habitat for Humanity. The platform is now live, and a recording of the event will be available on the FVDEX website.
