The Chicago Health Atlas, Powered By Metopio, Earns Prestigious Smart 50 Award for Innovative Interactive Data Platform
Public health department’s community-centric data-sharing initiative recognized as top global Smart Cities project
The Chicago Health Atlas, powered by Metopio, has been awarded the Smart 50 Award. The award, which honors the 50 most transformative smart projects each year, is presented in partnership with Smart Cities Connect and Smart Cities Connect Foundation.
The Chicago Health Atlas was created so that anyone can review, explore and compare health-related data over time and across communities. The goal is to provide transparent, accurate data to build trust with communities and better understand health using all the variables that impact a health and well-being in addition to identifying opportunities to take action.
The Chicago Health Atlas is, by design, an evolving tool. Through new partnerships, improved data and continuous updates to the site, everyone will be better equipped to understand and improve the city’s health. Efforts are focused on providing support, data education through collaborative efforts of the city, academia and community-based organizations in order to have more people be able to create valuable insights and share feedback.
The Atlas makes data insights accessible, affordable and actionable. The cloud-based product is easy to implement with highly customizable data, in weeks – not months or years.
